April 17: Trump says “LIBERATE!”

Headlines:

I started the day very pleasantly by having breakfast while watching the IG Live with Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic. As a fan it was both entertaining and heartwarming to see how friendly two rivals can be. They spent the first five minutes talking about how nice it was to be home with their families since they’re normally traveling 10-11 months out of the year.

They chatted about tennis life, what matches they would go back and change if they could, and their toughest losses against each other. It’s going to be interesting to see how the sporting world continues with these types of events. Djokovic is doing another tomorrow with the always entertaining Stan '“the man” Wawrinka. I’d love to see a Federer/Nadal chat.

Though Djokovic has never been my guy, he definitely has a certain charm, and I read later today that he, Federer, and Nadal have come up with a sliding-scale plan of how much all top 100 players will put into a “Player Relief Fund” to help the lower-ranked players until they can play again. Good leadership will get me every time.

I had a call with a recruiter in Cincinnati this morning, so that was good. An old college friend referred me, so that was really helpful. Between unemployment and Coronavirus, I’m catching up with a lot of old friends. I’m considering a move back home….or sort of “back-home adjacent.” Cincinnati is 45 minutes from both of my sisters, most extended family, and my best friend. It’s a proper city, so wouldn’t feel too out of place after all these years of urban living.

We’ll see what happens. Casting a wide net, but want to move somewhere cheaper and it would be so nice to be close to home. I love California….North and South. I have been lucky to live in both, but it’s too expensive. I could keep going here, but likely never able to live in bigger than a one-bedroom apartment. I just want a two bedroom house and more closet space - everything else is negotiable. And a new dog.

Winners of the Internet

  • A woman time travels to her past self to explain the realities for April 2020.

  • Tennis stars Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic chatted for an hour on IG Live about life at home, matches they wish they could change, and who would comprise the perfect player. Next up tomorrow: Stan “the man” Wawrinka and Novak Djokovic.

Left to Right: Andy & Novak, Trump’s “LIBERATE” tweets, my friend’s puzzle note, and my beloved local coffee shop displays childhood photos of both their employees and loyal customers.
